RRB JE Recruitment 2024: 7951 Junior Engineer Vacancies Open - Apply Online

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is the recruitment body for Indian Railway. It recruits Group B, Group C, and Group D position personnel for Indian Railways across multiple zones. Indian Railway is divided under multiple Zones for which the recruitment is done. Among them , the most awaited vacancy was of Junior Engineer.
Last Junior Engineer Exam by RRB was conducted in 2018. Since then, thousands of diploma and engineering graduated are waiting for the recruitment.

RRB JE 2024 Notification

The official RRB JE 2024 notification was out on 26 July 2024 which has invited applications for the recruitment of more than 7000 Junior Engineers of various engineering discipline for various Zonal Railway boards.

RRB JE Exam is not conducted every year. Previous conducted JE exam by RRB was in year 2018 and previous than that was in 2015. Hence, students are advised to take this exam very seriously as bulk recruitment is done via RRB JE exam and every hardworking and deserving student will get fair opportunity this year.

RRB JE 2024: Important Dates

• Applications forms for RRB JE 2024 can be filled online from 30 July 2024 at respective zonal website.
• The last date to apply for RRB JE 2024 is 29 August 2024 (23:59 Hours).
• In case of any error in the application form filling process, modifications will be allowed between 30 August 2024 and 8 September 2024.

RRB JE 2024: Eligibility

Educational Qualification: Candidates having a 3-year regular Diploma or 4-year regular B.E/B.Tech in any of the following discipline can apply for the position of Junior Engineer in RRB.

However, candidates who have appeared for their final semester examination and are waiting for the results are not eligible to apply for this position.

Age Limit: Candidates need to have a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum age of 35 years to apply for the position of Junior Engineer in RRB. However, students from reserved category are eligible for age relaxations as per the government norms.

RRB JE 2024: Selection Process

Students interested in becoming Junior Engineer at Indian Railways will have to go through 4 stages:

• CBT 1
• CBT 2
• Document Verification
• Medical Examination

RRB JE 2024: Exam Pattern

RRB JE Exam is conducted in two phases: CBT 1 and CBT 2. Every stage comprises of Objective Questions (Multiple Choice Questions). There will be negative marking of one-third of the allotted marks for every wrong answer in each CBT.

Students having the pre-requisite age limits and educational qualification will be called for CBT 1 Exam. Students clearing the CBT-1 stage will be called for CBT-2 stage.  The short listing for CBT-2 will be done for 15 times the number of vacancies for every category students. 

RRB JE CBT 1 Exam Pattern

Minimum Qualifying percentages for various category students are:

• UR: 40%
• EWs: 40%
• OBC: 30%
• SC: 30%
• ST: 25%

Minimum Qualifying percentages for various category students are:

• UR: 40%

• SC: 30%
• ST: 25%

RRB JE 2024 Expected Exam Dates

The last date to fill the application form is 29 August 2024. Therefore, it is likely that RRB JE CBT-1 will be conducted in October-November 2024.

Hence, students should start their preparation now accordingly.

RRB JE 2024: Application Fee

• The application fees for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/Minorities/Economically Backward Class (EBC) and female candidates is Rs 250. However, complete Rs 250 will be refunded who appear for CBT-1 stage.
• The application fees for all other category candidates are Rs 500. However, Rs 400 will be refunded to those candidates who appear for 1^st stage CBT-1 Exam.
• The refund amount will be credit after the CBT-1 stage and it will be credited to the bank account details given at the time of filling of application form.
• The application fees can be paid only via online mode i.e. internet banking or debit card or credit card or UPI.

RRB JE 2024: Salary

• The salary of Junior Engineer in Indian Railways according to 7^th CPC will be of Level 6 with an initial pay of Rs 35,400. Also, a Junior Engineer will also be entitled of various allowances.
